During the month of January 2023, Alleluia! will offer the “Created by God” Christian-based human sexuality curriculum to all 5th and 6th grade students. This course provides your child with human sexuality in the context of Christian values and emphasizes the gift of being God’s special creation and all that implies in being responsible and truly appreciative of our God-given sexuality. This 3 session program takes place over 2 weekends in the latter part of January. We begin with a “Parents Only Orientation” session held in early January, prior to the first student session. Interested parents can attend this session to learn the specifics of what will be taught, how the topics will be handled, and meet the instructors. After this initial session, you can decide if you wish to enroll your child. The textbook, Created by God: About Human Sexuality for Older Boys and Girls will be available to preview. The cost of the class is $12.00 and includes the student textbook.
Alleluia! Lutheran Church is taking necessary precautions to prepare for in-person events by cleaning, sanitizing, requiring masks, and practicing good social distancing. We cannot completely eliminate the risk of exposure, however. By attending an in-person event, you are assuming risk that may result in exposure to Covid-19. Please protect yourself and others by staying home if you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19 including fever, coughing, or shortness of breath, you have been exposed to someone with Covid-19, or you have a higher risk for severe illness. I/we will wear a mask at all times.
